Depending on seasonal availability and buyer requirements, available almond formats may include natural whole almond kernels, inshell almonds, and selected commercial grades suitable for different end-use markets.
Available Australian almond varieties may include Nonpareil, Carmel, and Price. Nonpareil is a highly recognised premium almond variety, valued for its attractive appearance, light golden colour, thin outer shell, smooth oval kernel, mild flavour, and sweet finish. Carmel is a soft-shell almond variety with an elongated, medium-sized kernel and a fuller almond flavour. Price is a sweet and buttery almond variety valued for its versatility across both snack and ingredient applications.
For almond kernels, common commercial sizing may include 18/20, 20/22, 22/24, 23/25, 25/27, 27/30, and 30/32 kernels per ounce. Available grades may include Fancy, Extra Supreme, Supreme, and Select Sheller Run, subject to supplier confirmation, crop-year availability, and seasonal market conditions.

Koala Valley Produce can source Australian macadamias in commercial export formats, including raw macadamia nut-in-shell in 20–22 mm and 22 mm+ sizing, as well as macadamia kernels across Styles 0–7. Australian-grown macadamia kernels are commonly classified by numbered kernel “styles”, generally ranging from Style 0 to Style 8.
These styles indicate the size and presentation of the kernel, from large whole kernels through to smaller pieces and chips. Style 0 represents premium large whole kernels, Style 2 typically includes a blend of whole and half kernels, Style 4 is mainly half kernels and larger pieces, while Styles 5 to 8 cover progressively smaller kernel pieces used for ingredient, food service, bakery, confectionery, and manufacturing applications.
